The Customs House was originally called Requena, a spacious home designed to locate various agencies connected with the work of the proposed canal navigation between Reus and Salou. Once definitively rejected this project was the headquarters of the Royal Customs Office, formerly located in the current West Street. The building of the Harbour Master was always a port equipment. He also welcomed Maritime Health agencies. Originally had attached a source and a water trough for horses.
The buildings of the Customs and the Captain were built around 1820, just when the decline of the port of Salou was already irreversible. Both buildings were disentailed early last century and passed into private hands. The Captain retains much of its original appearance, although there have been several interventions. He was just a flat floor and looking at the Paseo Miramar and had a water trough for horses and a fountain. Ver Capitania / Duana Antigua en un mapa más grande
