Arrives the 18th Tarragona International Dixieland Festival

Tarragona. Costa Dorada. It has already reached its eighteenth edition of a festival that seeks the participation of music groups and the public to make sense of an activity respected abroad as well, for their programming and trajectory. In this case, taking as a central dixieland, the proposal serves as an excuse to get into improvised music and allows us to carry out a journey that covers almost all styles of jazz, from beginning to about the 40s of last century. This is why we dive together in the Dixieland jazz manouche, which was well received both in the previous edition, ragtime, boogie woogie, the hot jazz, swing, blues, New Orleans, big band, jug bands, etc.. This year, however, we find some new features, such as the Dixie Picnic, especially designed for families and groups to fully release a spring musical Francolí Park and the gathering of the big bands of music schools in Tarragona and betting interesting as Joan Chamorro Quartet Moti ol'estrena the Vintage Band Amadeu Casas. Proposals to enjoy along with the jazz ensembles of the city, which are the real heart of the festival and are complemented perfectly with other groups of foreign and classic bill, such as Nova Scotia Jazz Band, or very current, such as Docteur Groove. It should be noted that the central proposal of the festival will be in charge of one of the most respected pianists and singers of the international jazz scene, Eliane Elias, an artist who is known for its interpretive quality and will be accompanied by Marc Johnson on bass, who had part of the trio of Bill Evans and drummer Magnus Ostrom recognized by the component of what was probably the most influential jazz trio and innovative twenty-first century, the Esbjörn Svensson Trio, or EST. A show of exceptional quality that will delight fans of jazz in our city, which are many.
