Safer beaches with a new digital public address system
Salou. Costa Dorada. 21 February 2025. The beaches and coves of Salou are safer with the implementation of a new digital public address system that replaces the analogue one that was previously in place. With the new system, bathers and users of the Camino de Costa (Camino de Ronda) will be able to access information in real time and communicate with the Local Police in case of emergency.
Specifically, the system allows information to be provided on the state of the beaches, weather conditions or incidents. In addition, the project includes the installation of intercoms at strategic points, especially in coves where there is no lifeguard service. Through this system, citizens will be able to connect directly with the Local Police to ask for help or report any incident or emergency.
The Councillor for Citizen Security and New Technologies of the Salou City Council, Sebastià Domínguez, explained that "this tool allows citizens to access updated data in real time, while facilitating a rapid and efficient response in the event of an emergency."
With this action, Salou improves the services on the municipality's coast, with safer and more connected beaches thanks to the use of technology.
