FESTAST hosting a new edition of the awards cuisine Llorenç Torrado
Terres de l'Ebre. March 10th, 2013. One of the main events of the last day of public opening of the fair food Terres de l'Ebre FESTAST has been delivering award food Lawrence Torrado. In the category of best chef and restaurateur José Luis Garcia has won the catering tin-house. Falgueras Antonio, El Celler de Gelida has won the award for best producer. And finally, the award for best promoter has been for Eulàlia Fargas's Cooking School for children and adolescents. The awards are presented by the Mayor of Tortosa, Fernando Bel and the President of Fair Tortosa, Emilio Lehmann. Prizes want to be a recognition of the Catalan companies and professionals in the categories indicated that they present Catalan gastronomic culture. The aim of the awards is to highlight a Lawrence Torrado to special respect for the work and the product, the use of local products, to research the customs and traditions, without losing its roots, but advancing and innovating culinary in the country. Lawrence Torrado died in the summer of 2007. Journalist and gastronome, had worked in radio and television. Author of numerous books about cooking, which include "a new culture of food" or "Mediterranean diet." He also collaborated with other Catalan cuisine. On Monday 11 March FESTAST spent the last day in the professional group. Among the events scheduled at 12.30 there will be the presentation of the candidacy of Catalan cuisine as UNESCO intangible heritage.
