Tasta Salou, haute cuisine for 5 euros every Thursday

Salou. Costa Dorada. 22 September 2020. The Association of Hospitality Entrepreneurs (AEH) of Salou, with the support of the City Council of the capital of the Costa Dorada and with the sponsorship of the Raventós Codorniu cavas, offer Tasta Salou, an innovative gastronomic proposal in the municipality: every Thursday You can try a tasting of haute cuisine, marinated with wine or cava from the sponsoring brand, for 5 euros.

The initiative is launched on September 24 and will be repeated every Thursday until Christmas, to resume in 2021, after the Christmas holidays.

At the moment, 11 restaurants in Salou have signed up for the initiative: Restaurant Cook & Travel; The Totxo Taverna; Boquet Restaurant; Malapecora Restaurant; Two G Bar Restaurant Lounge; Braseria l’Estació; La Taverna Restaurant; Sushi Kai Salou; Lunattic Salou; Rock & Grill, and El Trasto Taberna. However, it is expected that other establishments will join the proposal and expand the gastronomic offer.

The objective of Tasta Salou is "to promote prestigious gastronomy at an affordable price, differentiate itself from other gastronomic routes, give life to the city during the week and promote the restaurants that participate in the initiative", as explained in the presentation by José Félix Ruiz , member of the board of the Association of Hospitality Businessmen of Salou, and owner of one of the participating restaurants.

The contests and promotions are also part of the Tasta Salou, since the people who taste the dishes of the 11 restaurants will receive a bottle of cava as a gift. To get this passport, you must request it in advance by email. Those who request it will participate in the drawing of an invitation for two people to taste one of the dishes for free with a glass of wine. This promotion is limited to 1 time per restaurant.

In the presentation of Tasta Salou, the mayor of the municipality, Pere Granados, and the councilor for Economic Dynamization, Héctor Maiquez, highlighted the effort made in recent years to position the catering sector in Salou at a high quality level. They have also highlighted the need to give a boost to the sector, affected by the consequences of the health crisis, and to help extend the tourist season.

For her part, the representative of the sponsoring company, Joanna Civit, highlighted the quality complement of the wines and cavas that can be tasted every Thursday at Tasta Salou.
