Since last July 28, Jaume Orteu is the new president of the Salou-Cambrils-La Pineda Hotel Association. He will hold the position for the next two years with the option to renew for two more years if the entity's assembly so decides. Orteu succeeds Xavier Roig, who has held the presidency for the last 4 years, as president of the hotel management.
Jaume Orteu until now was responsible for Training at the Associació Hotelera Salou-Cambrils-La Pineda. He is currently the director of the 4R Playa Park hotel in Salou, and has more than 35 years of experience in the hotel sector in the capital of the Costa Dorada. Orteu assumes the presidency of the Association in one of the most difficult times for the tourist sector of the Costa Dorada in recent years.
The Salou-Cambrils-La Pineda Hotel Association was established on August 4, 1989. There are currently 87 associated establishments: 2 5-star hotels, 10 superior 4-star hotels, 47 4-star hotels, 22 3-star hotels stars, 3 2-star hotels, 2 2-star pensions and 1 1-star pension. This represents 95% of the hotel establishments in the area and a total of 47,000 beds and 20,600 rooms. The associated hotel companies employ more than 10,500 people.
Previously, the presidency of the Salou-Cambrils-La Pineda Hotel Association has been held by Benet Presas, Jordi Farriol, Josep Batalla, Enric Aragonés, Salvador-Joan Pellicé, Maria Eugenia Arbó, Eduard Farriol and Xavier Roig.
