The Hospitality Association of Salou (AEH) was presented yesterday, Tuesday, January 29, before a representation of the business world of the hospitality industry of the province, and the City Council, which supports and values the initiative. The AEH Salou has as its first president Pep Moreno and aims to be a link between the gastronomic initiatives of the tourist municipality. "We have an extensive and quality offer, we just have to believe it and through the association, convert Salou into a gastronomic destination," Moreno said at the presentation of the new association.
In addition to Pep Moreno, the act counted the presence of Francisco Pintado, president of the Hospitality Association of the Province of Tarragona; Pere Granados, mayor of Salou and some of the members of the board of the new association: Fernando López del Restaurante Ladrillo; Javier García from Chiringuito Elektra; Edu Cuesta from the Restaurant Le Sommelier; Jose Felix Ruiz from the Lunattic Restaurant and Jaume Solé from Port Aventura.

On the other hand, convert Salou into a gastronomic destination, not only during high season but throughout the year through gastronomic events that remember that "in February Salou also exists".
And finally, prove that the gastronomy of Salou has the same quality as that of many other gastronomic destinations of reference in the Costa Dorada.
Everyone present in today's presentation share that Salou has great professionals and an excellent gastronomic offer. And all of them have the certainty that the city needs to create its own entity that joins forces and gives impetus to the sector from the private sphere. The City Council and the Tourist Board carry out various initiatives to promote Salou as a gastronomic experience, but as the mayor says "public and private collaboration will make Salou a gastronomic reference on the Costa Dorada"
Pep Moreno, the first president of the Association, also wanted to thank the support of the first 40 associated establishments and Francisco Pintado for "facilitating the way to create the association." Pep Moreno is clear that the new association "should promote activities that attract new visitors and make Salou known as a purely gastronomic destination"
In the short term, the AEH Salou wants to collaborate with gastronomic events already consolidated and organize their own. The objective of Pep Moreno is that in a few years Salou has ten gastronomic activities consolidated every year. "We do not intend that all establishments participate, but that all are reflected in any of the initiatives."
Pep Moreno and Pere Granados agree that the gastronomic days are also a tourist attraction of proximity, which can make known the gastronomic potential that there is in the population to citizens of neighboring municipalities, beyond the brand "Salou sun and beach "
During the presentation of the Association, Francisco Pintado on behalf of the board, thanked the mayor of Salou for giving him the mythical "kitchen jacket" of the AEHT. A present that, since the constitution of the new board of the AEHT in May 2018, has been made to several public personalities and leaders of the gastronomic sector who have given their support to the Association, as is the case of the 5 Michelin stars of the province, the president of the Provincial Council and the mayor of Tarragona.
