Sports photography lovers will enjoy a new edition of the FOTOSPORT 2018 show by Salou. The exhibition has been installed in the Torre Vella where it can be visited until December 14. There are 47 works selected from 1599 photographs sent by 129 artists from 32 countries around the world.
This exhibition of sports and artistic photography is inaugurated in Reus, but it is traveling and has Salou as its headquarters since 2002. The event was created in 1970, so that next year it will celebrate its 50th anniversary.
According to the commissioner of FOTOSPORT, Josep M. Casanoves, "the images of the show show the effort from many points of view: the joy of victory, the sadness of defeat or the emotion of the public." Casanoves is also an Artist of the International Federation of Photographic Art and Excellence for services provided by the FIAP (AFIAP-EsFIAP).
In the opening ceremony, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, recalled that "Salou is a municipality where sport, in general, and base sport play a fundamental role, taking into account that it is a sports tourist destination that has the certification in various modalities, such as football, sailing and cycling. "
For his part, the Councilor for Cultural Services of Salou, Xavier Montalà, has described the images as "spectacular, with a high level of expressiveness and that convey very particular feelings."
The exhibition has been installed in the Torre Vella, a 1530 building aimed at monitoring and defending the coast against constant pirate attacks. From October 13 to April 28, visiting hours are from 6 pm to 8 pm, Monday through Saturday. Sundays and holidays is closed.
