Salou. Costa Dorada. 03 April 2025. If our goal is to park for free in Salou during the tourist season, we must keep in mind that it's a difficult task, but not entirely impossible, as long as we're willing to walk.
Salou has more than 3,434 parking spaces, distributed among 9 paid parking lots and 3 free parking lots. In addition, there are 1,315 new regulated parking spaces on approximately 30 streets in the busiest tourist areas, such as Cap Salou, the area around Carrer Carles Buïgas, the C-31B, and Carrer Nord. In total, Salou has 4,749 spaces strategically distributed throughout the municipality.
Where to park in Salou
The main parking areas in Salou and the park-and-ride surface parking lots are as follows:
Paseo Jaume I: has 522 spaces and free parking is available year-round except between March and October. It has two entrances and monthly passes are available.
Between Calle Major and Calle Balears: a small area with only 25 spaces, just behind the Municipal Tourist Board. Also a paid blue zone.
Calle Torremolinos, at the end of Avenida Carles Buïgas: here you'll find one of the largest parking lots, with 280 spaces. It's regulated by parking meters.
Calle París, number 26: there's a surface parking lot with more than 150 spaces.
Avenida Pompeu Fabra: there's a park-and-ride parking lot with 190 spaces, regulated by parking meters. The rate is €4 per day.
Calle Carril and Calle València: there's also a regulated, paved area dedicated to surface parking next to the train tracks, near the old train station.
Calle Berlin: a regulated parking lot with 173 spaces.
All streets connecting to Llevant Beach require a paid blue zone in the summer, while the rest of the year it's free. The streets that lead to Via Roma are toll-free in winter and summer.
Please note that the blue zone in the municipality's various regulated parking areas will be activated on June 1st and will operate every day of the week, Monday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Llevant and Nord parking garages are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday to Sunday, although in July and August, the hours are extended from 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. These hours are in effect until September 30th.
The most convenient way to manage payment in the blue zone is to use the MOT (Aparcar) mobile app, which can be downloaded for free from Google Play for Android devices or the Apple Store for iOS. This same app can be used to pay for blue zones and public parking in other neighboring cities such as Reus, Cambrils, Tarragona, Vila-seca, Valls, Montblanc, and Girona.
This app can also be used for electric vehicle charging stations. Charging is free for the user. Please note that blue zones can only be paid for with a card or the mobile app.
Where to park for free in Salou:

RFID cards from other municipalities are also valid.
