The Agència Catalana de l’Aigua (ACA), through the Monitoring and Information program for the Quality of bathing water in Summer 2019, has studied the beaches and coves of Salou and the results have indicated that the quality of the bathing waters of all the beaches of the municipality is excellent.
The results of the control period that took place from June 17 to 30, at various points in each of the coves and beaches of the municipality of Salou, where the presence of the Escherichia coli bacteria and the Intestinal bowel and the temperature of the water indicate that bathing water is in excellent condition, they are suitable for bathing and meet the quality requirements of Directive 2006/7 / EC.
The ACA is responsible for performing, during the summer, control of the quality of bathing areas, which include beaches and indoor areas. This control has been carried out since 1990 by applying the protocol for surveillance and information on the state of the beaches by means of inspections and samples collection, which are carried out fortnightly during the summer, and which are analyzed to determine the quality of the water of bathroom in the laboratories of Public Health of the Departament de Salut de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
