From January 26 to February 5, 2024, Salou will celebrate the Winter Festival

From January 26 to February 5, 2024, Salou is experiencing an intense Winter Festival with the novelty of the change of location of the Cos Blanc, the central and most representative event of the festival, which moves to Passeig Jaume I. More 70 events including concerts, music, theater, exhibitions, and children's and traditional activities to enjoy the Salou Winter Festival.

Those in charge of kicking off the programming are José Corbacho and David Fernández, the comic actors who star in this year's proclamation, on Friday, January 26, at 8 p.m., at the Teatro Auditorio de Salou (TAS). At the end of the event, the fireworks at the beginning of the Fiesta Mayor are lit, in front of the TAS. Free entrance. The doors open half an hour before until the capacity of the room is exhausted.

During the proclamation ceremony, the presentation of the pubilles and the hereu of the Salou 2024 Festival also takes place and the pubille and the hereu of 2023 are bid farewell.

The same Friday afternoon on Paseo Jaume I, at 5:30 p.m., Fira Xic's with attractions for boys and girls and chocolate. This fair will be open every day of the Festival until February 5.

On the same Friday, January 26, in the Fiesta Mayor tent located on Paseo Jaume I, you can enjoy the Night of Humor, led by José Corbacaho, David Fernández and Tomás García, at 10 p.m. Free admission. The doors will open one hour early until capacity is reached.

At the end, around 1 in the morning, in the tent, "el Momentazo" Party, with the best music from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Also free entry with limited capacity.

Regarding the concerts and performances that will take place in the tent, all free and with limited capacity, it is worth highlighting:

On Saturday, January 27, the parade of popular elements is celebrated through several streets of the municipality, at 10:30 a.m., leaving from the Teatro Auditorio de Salou (TAS). Next, a show-off dance for the festive procession in the Torre Vella in Salou at 12 noon. In this space, Mayor Pere Granados and the municipal corporation receive the Salouense entities and associations, on the occasion of the Fiesta Mayor, an event enlivened by the musical group Blue Alley Quintet.

On Sunday, January 28, at 8 p.m., the play 'Hotel Sin co-estrellas', by the group Associació Salou Okupa Teatre, is performed at the TAS. Free entry and limited capacity. The doors open half an hour before the start of the performance.

The Cos Blanc of Salou changes location

The big day of the Salou Winter Festival will be on Saturday, February 3, with the celebration of the Cos Blanc, which changes location and will be held on Paseo Jaume I. The show-off parade will take place starting at 10.30 h; and the parade and party will be in the afternoon, at 7 p.m. Once again, the Coso Blanco will be broadcast live on TAC 12 television.

At Fira Xic's, boys and girls will have a free ride on an attraction on February 3, but they must collect their ticket in advance at the Espai Infància Estació Carrilet.

At 6:30 a.m., also on February 3, from Plaza del Carrilet, young people's matina with brass bands through different streets of the municipality.

Other events of the Winter Festival

Invitation collection is on January 24 and 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the TAS hallway. This event is aimed at retired citizens registered in Salou and members of the municipal associations of the Elderly in the municipality. On January 31, at the Casal de la Gent Gran, at 5:30 p.m., Miquel Espejo will perform the solidarity comedy "Un avi, un somriure." Free entry and limited capacity. The same day, at 7 p.m., Laudistic concert at the Salou Municipal Music School by the group Rondalla Jaume I, with the collaboration of the Aragonese Cultural Association. On Thursday, February 1, another tribute will be made, in this case to the oldest woman of the municipality, Pepita Guinovart at 7 p.m., at the Torre Vella in Salou.

On the other hand, on Saturday, February 3, at 1 p.m., the radio program 'Tot és comèdia' will be held live, with Màxim Castillo, from Cadena SER, on the first section of Paseo Jaume I.

And on Sunday, February 4, the Main Festival Mass will take place, in the Church of Santa María del Mar in Salou, at 12 noon; and, at 1:30 p.m., the popular fideuá, at the Club Nàutic de Salou. Finally, on February 5, there will be choral singing through the streets of Salou, starting at 7 p.m., with the Eixàrcia Choir and the Ama Lur Basque Choir to commemorate the festival of Saint Águeda. The departure will be from the church of Santa Maria del Mar.

It is worth remembering that on February 18, at 5 p.m., the Xic'S 2024 Carnival, for the fight against childhood cancer, will be held at the Ponent Municipal Sports Pavilion.

Exhibitions

On Friday, February 2, at 7 p.m., the exhibition of local artists from Salou will open in the Torre Vella, which will remain open until February 24.

From January 23 to February 5, an exhibition about the festive procession of Salou will be on display in the TAS hallway.

The reusable cup and the violet Point

A reusable glass will be on sale in the Fiesta Mayor tent, thus avoiding the accumulation of plastic throughout the entire festival, in addition to having a souvenir.

The purple and multicolored Point, located in the tent, will also be available to citizens, whose purpose is to inform and accompany the population in situations of sexist violence and any type of discrimination.
