Salou. Costa Dorada. 21 November 2022.
PortAventura will be a great Carnival from February 17 when the park will be transformed inspired by the carnivals of Rio de Janeiro and Venice. The announcement of the extension of the opening calendar for 2023 has been announced when PortAventura begins its last season of 2022 dedicated to Christmas and after the celebration of Halloween.
Carnival at PortAventura will feature traveling shows, batucadas, floats, comparsa parades and an invitation for all visitors to attend a large costume party. The party will tour the park during the weekends of February and March, adding a total of fifteen non-consecutive days to the opening calendar of this entertainment and fun venue.
It is the first time, after 26 years of history, that Port Aventura has opened its doors in the month of February and, therefore, the commitment to deseasonalization will materialize in 2023 with the opening for the first time of a period of 276 days, surpassing by 17% on opening days in 2019 and by 9% in 2022.
On the other hand, Ferrari Land will open for 264 days in 2023 and Caribe Aquatic Park will do so for more than 100 days.
Along with the extension of the opening dates, PortAventura will inaugurate in 2023 the largest self-consumption photovoltaic plant in a holiday resort in Spain and one of the largest in Europe: PortAventura Solar. The project, which was announced last August, has involved an investment of close to 5 million euros and will cover a third of the resort's energy needs.
Lastly, PortAventura World has also announced that it will continue promoting strategic initiatives such as The Beat Challenge video game, an immersive experience or the promotion of one of its most innovative projects: the LaLiga TwentyNine's sports bar, created within the framework of the joint venture with LaLiga and Kosmos, Gerard Piqué's company.
