The Salou City Council, from the Cultural Services area, together with the Salou Library, and the Department of Children, through the Xic'S Club, has organized a program with workshops and actions that will be carried out on social networks to celebrate Sant Jordi, in a way adapted to the current pandemic situation.
Thus, through the municipal social networks on the same day April 23, Sant Jordi, at 10 am, the Virtual Guide of Local Authors will be published. A little later, at 12 noon, Trivium will virtually explain the exploits of Sant Jordi and Santa Jordina, a story that will be explained again on Saturday, April 24 at 12 noon.
In addition, throughout the 23rd, the Department of Children, through the Xic'S Club, will publish different workshops and surprises on social networks, such as, for example, the method of creating a Sant Jordi dragon on paper; create a bookmark in the shape of a dragon; paint a rose, or make a dragon with stickers.
It will also be possible to download, through the program prepared by the City Council, a document that, once printed and cut out, will allow the Xic'S Club mascots, the Rocky and the Confetina, to be dressed as a dragon, princess or knight.
Likewise, from April 19 to 22, it will be possible to play the special edition of BibliOjOc: 'Literary proposals in library format', with questions from a text or image clue about the world of books and reading, to discover new literary gifts to give this Sant Jordi. These tracks will be published every day, from Monday to Thursday, at 10 a.m., on the Library's social networks. The winner will be able to choose a title among the proposals played and collect it on Friday, the 23rd.
Also, during these same days you can enjoy the storytelling game 'Dixit', in an adapted online version. It should be remembered that Dixit is a board game that encourages imagination and creativity, through the central figure of the storyteller, based on illustrated cards and clues, in this case, in the form of fragments of stories. The winner will also be able to pick up his book at the Library on Sant Jordi's day, April 23rd.
The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has shown his satisfaction "for the work and effort of both areas in the development of this playful-festive program, which includes activities throughout the week, and especially during the Sant Jordi Day, so that the boys and girls of Salou can enjoy the celebration, in an adapted way, due to the current situation in which we live ".
For his part, the Councilor for Cultural Services, Xavier Montalà, has pointed out that "from the area, our will is to bring the citizens of Salou closer to the world of reading, and the Sant Jordi Day is a great opportunity to get them to the smallest of the house can enter this immense universe, through leisure ".
