Salou office will return the VAT Tax Free for non-EU tourists

Salou. Costa Dorada. 07 May 2013. On May 15 Salou open its own office Tax Free (Free Tax) will return VAT to non-EU visitors who so request. It is a VAT refund service that until now could only be carried out in five of Catalonia. This new office will be located at the head of the Tourist Board, the House Torremar Paseo Jaime I Salou. This service will run on an experimental basis during the next five months, until 15 October.

Russian visitors, the big winners

This new service will boost tourism and trade in and around Salou on the Costa Dorada, since this service reduces the cost of both the purchases are made in the village as those made in other towns. This office will benefit mostly Russian tourists, one of the largest groups in the municipality, as the return of VAT to 21% of incentive procurement and generate an increase in activity in other sectors such as restoration or recreation. This service is a demand of the traders association of Salou, which has received the support and collaboration of Tourism and the Department of Commerce and Economic Development Council.
