Salou ornamental fountains are one of the main attractions of the town and from Easter can enjoy the spectacle of light and color offered. These are the times of the sources of Salou in 2020, although they can be modified by weather causes or by the performance of an act in the surroundings.
The Luminosa source works Salou:
- from one week before Easter des June 30: Fridays, Saturdays, holidays and eves of holidays at 22.30 hours
- juliol 1 to 10 September: every day at 23 hours
- September 11 to November 2: Fridays, Saturdays, holidays andeves of holidays at 22 hours
La Fuente Luminosa is situated at the end of the promenade Jaume I, Francesc Germà square, reminiscent of the man who led the popular movement that reinvidicó the creation of the municipality of Salou. It offers a spectacle of water features, light and colors. This source dates from 1973 and is designed by the engineer Carles Buigas, who also created the fountain of Montjuïc in Barcelona. Combinations of lights and water features can reach the 210 combinations in shifts of 90 seconds, so it would take more than 5 hours to see the full program.
It is a source that has an important symbolism for the city of Salou and for many years has been a characteristic element and emblematic point of attraction in the municipality. This fountain was remodeled in 2011, replacing the plastic tubes by a stainless steel lights bulbs by other speakers leed technology and to streamline the fountain show. In addition, the City of Salou has rehabilitated this space to regain its original splendor and bring the magic fountain of Salou to modern times.
Salou Cyber Source:
In 2019, the Salou Cyber Source has been renovated and offers a completely new show entitled "Sinfornía de luz". It has a soundtrack of its own composition from electronic bases, with classical instrumentation and special effects, which evolves from a simple and abstract beginning, to a complex end and great harmonies. The show lasts 15 minutes and is divided into 4 parts:
- Genesis (introduction, calm, uncovered: only water and light)
- Duality (separation, contrast and disorder: with water, light and abstract video, only laser, more water curtain)
- Storm (chaos, search, transmutation: with water, light and laser)
- Peace (flow, light, bridges, destination: with all the elements).
The Cyber Source schedules in 2020 are:
- until September 10, every day at 10pm (show duration: 15 minutes)
- at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 11pm, every day: demonstration passes with water, light and music
- from September 10 to November 2: Fridays, Saturdays, vigils of holidays and bank holidays, at 9pm (show duration: 15 minutes)
The Cyber Fountain is located on Paseo Jaume I, near the Salou Yacht Club. The set consists of 1,000 jets and geysers and a water bridge in the central part through which you can walk. It is completed with a large fountain in the area closest to Espigó del Moll.
It is possible that the show does not take place if its schedule coincides with the celebration of some cultural or social activity in the Paseo Jaume I.
The Labyrinth of Salou: OUT OF SERVICE FOR SECURITY AND UNTIL NEW NOTICE
The circuit ornamental fountains Salou closes with the Labyrinth, a game of water jets that delights the whole family and especially of smaller and youth. It is located towards the middle of Paseo Jaume I, near the monument to King that names the ride. Those who want to complete the maze trying to get in and out of it without getting wet, although it is a bit difficult. You can enjoy this source at the following times:
- from one week before from Easter to June 30: Fridays, Saturdays, holidays and eves of holidays from 18 hours to 22 hours
- juliol 1rst to 10 September: every day from 18 hours to 24 hours
- September 11th to November 1rst: Fridays, Saturdays, holidays and eves of holidays from 18 hours to 22 hours
